Our admission process is fair, transparent, and inclusive, ensuring a balanced mix of participants across gender and background.
Who Can Apply?
Aspiring filmmakers who show a strong interest in storytelling and filmmaking but have limited access to formal training are welcome to apply.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must:
- Own a laptop
- Have a stable internet connection
- Demonstrate commitment to learning filmmaking
- Have a basic understanding of filmmaking or show evidence of prior training or certification
- Have basic computer literacy skills
- Be able to read, write, and communicate in basic English
Application Process
- Open Call – Applications are announced through local radio, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), and on the DFS Africa website.
- Online Application – Interested applicants complete application forms shared via the listed platforms.
- Screening & Categorisation – Applications are reviewed and sorted based on the preferred courses.
- Selection Committee Review – A committee comprised of course instructors, the project lead, and an independent film expert select the final candidates.
- Notification – All applicants will be notified via email or phone about the outcome of their application.
